Varied Thrush found 2 miles south of Little Falls on east side of Mississippi.

We found the bird south of the Little Falls Dam off from the Musser Estate on the east side of the river. You can go into the Linden Hills entrance and drive down to the river (3 blocks south of the downtown area). Last sighting was 12-13-08 then the storm came in. I will check if it is still there or if you find it please report. This is normally a sea duck that winters in the ocean. Only the second time reported in Morrison County.

Coming Events

Third annual Spring bird walk. May 3rd from 7:00 to 10:00 with brunch following. Meet at the entrance kiosk. Milt Blomberg and Caleb Gosiak will guide tours down the new trails to the lookout deck. Milt will take out interested people, following event, to other close bird spots.
